Grounding - Connecting with the Earth's natural healing powers

Spring - the time of awakening. This time of year when the days are getting longer and warmer. This time when you can sit outside without your winter coat and enjoy the warm rays of sunshine on your skin. This is such a wonderful time for nature as well! Have you noticed all these plants blossoming? One is prettier than the other. Ahh - this makes me so happy.

One of my favorite things this time is to take my shoes off and walk barefoot.

Have you ever noticed that being in nature, plus, being barefoot makes you feel alive, energized and awake?

A while back I stumbled across this book called “Earthing” and I was fascinated by this information. Disclaimer, I would not recommend this book, reading this article in a few minutes will give you all that you need to know about this awesome phenomenon.

Why is it that I am referencing this book is that this is where I got the knowledge that I am sharing with you today. Why I would not recommend this book is the fact that even though the facts and researches are interesting, it repeats the same thing over and over again plus half of the book tries to sell you these grounding sheets. And as I do love gadgets that will enhance my health, I know that nature is for free and we can spend time in there as much as we wish, no charges!

What is GROUNDING or EARTHING?

A while back I asked a question in my Instagram story if you guys know what EARTHING was? And 76% did not know, what that term means. And this I believe, is absolutely essential to know, in order to be more healthy, and well... grounded.

“It is now well established that the energy residing on the surface of the Earth is primarily electrical. We draw electrical energy through our feet in the form of free electrons fluctuating at many frequencies. these frequencies reset our biological clock and provide the body with electrical energy. the electrons themselves flow into the body, equalizing and maintaining it at the electrical potential of the earth. Just like standard electronic equipment that needs a stable ground to function well, so, too, the body needs stable ground to also function well.

It all comes down to energy, well, electricity to be more precise.

Mounting evidence suggests that the Earth's negative potential can create a stable internal bioelectrical environment for the normal functioning of all body systems.

Reconnecting to the Earth doesn't cure you of any disease or condition. What it does is to reunite you with the natural electrical signals from the Earth that govern all organisms dwelling upon it. It restores your body’s natural internal electrical stability and rhythms, which in turn promote normal functioning of body systems, including the cardiovascular, respiratory, digestive, and immune systems.

Your body is finely tuned to "work" with the Earth in the sense that there's a constant flow of energy between your body and the Earth. When you put your feet on the ground, you absorb large amounts of negative electrons through the soles of your feet.

The land and the seas of the Earth are alive with an endless and constantly replenished supply of electrons. By making direct contact with the surface of the planet, our conductive bodies naturally equalize with the earth. Figuratively speaking, we refill the electron level in our tank that has become low.

The effect is sufficient to maintain your body at the same negatively charged electrical potential as the Earth. This simple process is called "grounding" or "earthing," and its effect is one of the most potent antioxidants we know of.

Grounding has been shown to relieve pain, reduce inflammation, improve sleep, enhance wellbeing, and much, much more. When you wear rubber- or plastic-soled shoes, however, you are effectively shielding yourself from this beneficial influx of electrons from the Earth.

The Earth carries an enormous negative charge. It's always electron-rich and can serve as a powerful and abundant supply of antioxidant and free-radical-busting electrons.

It is also well established that electrons from antioxidant molecules neutralize reactive oxygen species (ROS, or in popular terms, free radicals) involved in the body's immune and inflammatory responses

It is assumed that the influx of free electrons absorbed into the body through direct contact with the Earth likely neutralize ROS (free radicals) and thereby reduce acute and chronic inflammation.

What is Inflammation?

Inflammation is the body's natural reaction against injury and infection.

Your immune system dispatches an army of white blood cells to surround and protect the area, creating visible redness and swelling. As the remedial work winds down, excess free radicals produced during the immune response are neutralized by antioxidants or free electrons in your body.

Usually, inflammation is caused by an injury. But there are studies that show that eating certain foods will strike more inflammation in the body; they include foods high in sugar and other sweeteners, white flour products, trans fats, polyunsaturated vegetable oils, and processed meats.

we believe that a normal inflammation veers out of control because of lost contact with earth. people are suffering from an electron deficiency - not enough free electrons on hand to satisfy the lust of rampaging free radicals.

But hey, don’t just only read, nod and agree, go out, take your shoes off and walk, sit, read a book or just lie in the grass a few minutes and feel the calming effects taking over your body. If you are expecting miracles or massive changes in a couple of times doing this, you are not in for a treat. This is something our bodies have been graving for a long time. Make a commitment with yourself to do this every day when possible and a s much as you can. Your body will thank you for it!
